In this article we will explain how you can link the Catenda HUB database with PowerBI.
By linking you have direct access to the data on Catenda HUB in PowerBI. This data can then be used to evaluate tasks, documents or, for example, team members.
To begin with, you will need the following installation package in addition to PowerBI.
Once you have installed both, you only need to create a connection from PowerBI to the Catenda HUB database. To do this, proceed as follows:
Open PowerBI and click on "Get data from another source".
Select the target source under Other --> Bimsync. In the course of the rebrand, the old name Bimsync is still available, but will be changed to Catenda over time.
Use "Connect" to establish the connection to the database.A navigator opens in which all projects you have access to are listed. Select the corresponding project and the table to be linked. In our example we would like to evaluate issues in PowerBI. Click on "Load" to load the dataset.
Here you will be able to choose from the following datasets:
DocumentsDocuments Label
Issue
Issue Board
Issue Label
Issue Status
Issue Types
Label
Members
Models
Products
Revisions
Team Members
Teams
Token
PowerBI now loads all the data for issues and displays it on the right-hand side.
Select the appropriate data field and create your analysis.
Tip: Load different data sets and link them together. With this you will be able to make interactive dashboards that give you a complete overview.
Depending on what data is present in your project and what data you load, different relations will be made automatically.
Here is a map of what the connections look like when all information is present in your project and you have loaded all project data:
