There are several ways to link parts of Catenda Hub to other parts of Catenda Hub.

If you look at the right information panels in different places you might find what information has been linked to the item you are viewing.

This article describes good ways to ensure your items have linked items.

Items can be linked manually by clicking on link in different places. In this article you will also find some tips and tricks for how you can work in a way where you can ensure everything is automatically linked without having to click on link every time.

Linking issues

You can find out what an issue is linked to in the right panel of an issue

Linking objects to issues

Automatic

If you have 3D objects selected in the 3D snapshot when you submit the issue, these objects will be linked to the issue.

Automatic

If you use # to point to an issue in the comment or a description of an issue this issue will be linked to that issue and that issue will be linked to this issue.

This link can later be edited.

If you make an issue from the annotations tab in the right information panel of a document and send it in the document will be linked to that issue.

Automatic

If you make an annotation and add it to an issue the document will automatically be linked to that issue.

Automatic

  1. Load a model in 3D and select an object.

  2. Either

    Click the plus button in the issue section of the inspect section of the information panel.

    or

    Make a new issue section by clicking on new issue on the issues page of the content panel.

  3. Give the issue a title and send it in

  4. Notice that your issue will have the selected objects linked

Linking documents to objects

You can only add objects to documents and not the other way around see here.

Linking as much as possible as easily as possible

Load a model in the 3D viewer and select an object.

Create a selection for the objects in the selections section of the information panel.

Make a new issue

Give the issue a title.

Link a document to the issue.

Send in the issue.

Go to the document and link the objects to the document.
