Topic body - The content of a topic

Select a topic from an topic board a to open the topic page of the topic.

To the right of the topic body and header the right information panel can be found.

Click on th information icon in the topic banner to expand the right infomraiton panel.

Progress bar

The progress bar appears towards the top of the topic body if checkboxes or linked topics have been added to the topic description.

The progress bar shows the progress of checked checkboxes and resolved topics in the description of the topic.

Description

The topic description follows the general formatting rules of posts.

Edit description

Click on the pencil on the top right of the topic content to edit the description

Access required: Write access to the topic board

Topic information

The topic information can be found below the description.

This is what the topic information can look like:

Created by

The creator of the topic and the time it was created.

To get a more specific time go to account settings.

Show history

The history of the topic can be seen by clicking on the show history button towards the bottom right of the topic description.

Sort

Show oldest comments first - Default

Show newest comments first

Comment section

The is what the comment section in a topic can look like:

The action menu of a comment can be found with the three dots towards the top right of an existing comment.

Access required: comment creator

Edit a comment

Only the author of a comment can edit their own comment.

It is only possible to edit the text in a comment

To remove a picture from a comment the whole comment has to be deleted.

After editing the comment the date and time of when it was last edited are displayed on the comment.

Delete a comment

Click on delete comment to delete a comment

Comment

Text in comments follow the general rules for formatting of posts with a minor difference when it comes to checklists.

Attachment pop-out

Left click on the image of an attachment to open the image pop-out.

Navigate between images from different comments in this topic with the left/right navigation arrows

The best way to download the original image that was submitted is by clicking on the download icon to download the image

The save as in the action menu of the browser saves html instead of the image.

Pin the image pop-out on with the pin icon on the top right to keep the image pop-out open while navigating to other parts of Catenda Hub.

Close the image pop-out by clicking on the x top right, clicking on close bottom right or pressing esc on the keyboard.

A comment can have one of the following 3 attachments:

Image

Adding an image to a comment

The plus next to the comment box can ble clicked to add an image.

Choose an image from a local hard drive to add it to the comment.

It is also possible to highlight the text box of the comment and paste an image from the clipboard.

Connect image to 3D

When an image is added to a comment it will say "No viewer connection" under the image unless a model is loaded in the 3D viewer.

The text "Connect to 3D viewpoint" is displayed.

The image can now connect it to objects and a position in the viewer.
Submit this comment to play back the viewpoint by clicking on the play button.
Annotations can be added to the image after adding the image and before submitting the comment.

Image pop-out

The image that is attached to the comment after the comment is submitted can be popped-out to see a its contents in a larger format and download it after it has been submitted.

Deleting an image from a comment

Images that are attached to comments cannot be edited or deleted from the comment.

Delete the whole comment to remove the image from the topic.

2D or 3D snapshots

Click on the plus button next to the comment field to add a 2D or 3D snapshot

Adding a 2D or 3D snapshot to a comment

Load a model in the 3D viewer to attach a 3D snapshot to a comment.

Load a storey of a model in the 2D viewer to attach a 2D snapshot to a comment.

A 3D snapshot can look somehting like this.

2D snapshots have the same buttons but with an image of the 2D viewer attached.

Markup

Keep track of annotations on documents by creating a markup.

When a markup is saved, it is either added to the comment of an existing topic or a new topic with the markup is created.

A topic comment with a markup can look something like this:

When a markup is added to a topic the document that the annotations were created on will automatically be linked in the related documents.

Markup comment

The annotation comment follows the general rules for formatting of posts with a minor difference when it comes to checklists.

Markup snapshot

The following information can be seen in a markup snapshot:

  • A screenshot of the area of the document where the annotations were created.

  • Name and revision of the annotated document

    • If the annotation is made on a PDF comparison the two revisions that are compared are displayed.

  • The page that the annotations are on

  • The amount of annotations on the page

Image pop-out

The image that is attached to the comment after the comment is submitted can be popped-out to see a its contents in a larger format and download it after it has been submitted.

New comment

This is what a draft of a new comment can look like before the comment is submitted

Text box

Write a comment in the text box next to the plus button.

Mention members by typing @name or link to other topics by typing #link.

Text submitted in the text box of a comment follows the general formatting rules of posts on Catenda.

Paste both text and images from the clipboard to attach them to the new comment.

Plus button

Click on the plus button to add a 3D snapshot, a 2D snapshot or an image to the draft of a new comment.

3D snapshot

Add a snapshot of the current situation in the 3D viewer panel.

Click on this attachment again to update the 3D view after making changes.

2D snapshot

Add a snapshot of the current 2D view that can be found towards the bottom right of the 3D viewer.

Click on this attachment again to update the 3D view after making changes.

Image

Attach an image from the local hard drive.

Attachment image

Each attachment comes along with an image.

Left click on the image of the attachment to open the attachment pop-out.

In the attachment pop-out the image of the attachment can be annotated.

Under the image a toolbar appears with the tools to draw the specific point of the topic in more detail.​

Submit

Click on submit to submit the draft of new comment including the text written in the text box as well as any attachment that has been added.

It is only possible to submit comments with one attachment at a time.
