Step ribbon in an approval request

The step ribbon can be found towards the top of an approval request page of a draft, open or closed approval request for projects that enabled shared revisions after 2 October 2025.

In the step ribbon a preview of all the approval review steps in an approval are displayed.

Created approval request step

Hover over the created step to see information about the creation of the approval request.

See the name of te member that created the approval request.

At the time of creation the member has to have been part of a submitter team configured for this approval workflow.

See when the approval request was created.

Created step in draft approval request

Thisis what the created step can look like in a draft approval request:

Draft approvals pass their creation date ass soon as they get created.

The creation date therefore always looks red.

Passed approval request step

Hover over a passed approval step to see information about the passed approval step.

See the due date for the passed approval step.

When the due date has passed it will be red.

See which teams are configured for this approval step.

Current approval request step

When an approval request setep is the current step the due date for the current approval step can be seen in the approval request step preview.

Auto-advance enabled - The approval request will automatically move to the next step after the due date

Auto-advance disabled - The approval request remains in the step after it has passed its due date and will only advance after all reviewers have submitted their validation review.

Future approval request step

Future steps do not have a due date yet as the amount of working days to complete the step will start as sonn as the previous step has ended.

Final approval step

When the final approval step is the current step the due date for the final approval step can be seen in the step preview.

When the due date has passed it will be red.

Hover the current approval request step to see information about the current approval request step.

See which approver team is configured for the final approval step.

A member in the final approver team can make the final validation decision about approving or rejecting the documents in this approval request based on the validation decisions made by each of the teams in each of the steps.

When the validating member has submitted their validation as approved or rejected for each of the documents the approval workflow will be closed.

A final approval has to always be submitted to close an approval request.

There is no auto-advance for the final approval step.

When all final validations are submitted the approval request will be closed.

The final approval request step then gets a green background.

The date of when all final validations are submitted is displayed.
