Since Version 9.13 of Solibri it has become possible to connect Bimsync documents via the Documents API. Purchase and download the Solibri Model Checker from the Solibri Solution Center to get started. If you already have the tool remember to upgrade it.

The Documents API integration offers an easy way to access your cloud-stored content. You can connect to a common data environment (CDE), and download and upload models from/to the server.

Connecting:

In order to connect your Bimsync documents in Solibri go to File -> Integrations and click on connect.

Select Bimsync in the Select Server dropdown menu.

Importing documents or models:

In order to import documents or models with Bimsync you can now click on Open.

Solibri will now say Waiting for CDE.
A Solibri tailored page that looks like Bimsync will now open as a new page in your default browser.
The page will first ask you for permission the first time you do this.
Click Allow access to continue.
This access can always be revoked in your Bimsync account settings
If you revoke this access and want to reconnect you will have to delete this folder:
C:\Users\<Username>\.solibri
This folder stores your login data as well so you will have to re-login to Solibri next time you open it.

After granting access you will be redirected to models and documents within Bimsync.
It should be noted that this page is not the regular Bimsync and only lets you navigate to the models and documents sections of Bimsync.
Regular Bimsync functionality like annotating documents and configuring access to documents/folders does not work here and this page is only meant to configure documents that will be synchronized with Solibri.

Here you can import one or multiple documents or models to Solibri by clicking on Download documents or models.

Exporting models and documents to Bimsync:

If a model has been opened in Solibri it is possible to export this model to Bimsync by clicking on Upload Model. If changes have been made in Solibri you will first have to save your progress locally as a .smc file and you will have to click on upload model again.

Here you can export models and documents to Bimsync in the following ways:

Local models and documents:
If you are uploading a local file you can save the .smc file to the documents section.
This .smc file can later be opened from Bimsync using the Solibri Documents API to continue using it.

Linked models:
If a model was imported from the models section in Bimsync you can upload it as a new revision to a model in Bimsync.
Select which model from Solibri (left column) you want to upload as a revision to which model in Bimsync (top row) and write a comment (mandatory).
After doing this click on submit to upload your model.

Updating models:

After a model has been imported from Bimsync a chain icon will be displayed in the third column to show that it is linked.
The Version column will help you keep track of which revision is currently loaded.

The name of the model will always stay the same even if it has an old revision number in it.
You can configure how you want your model to update by clicking on update models.

In the dialogue that now pops up you will have three options.

Update: Updates are done manually
Automatic: When a new revision is available in Bimsync the model will automatically update
Prompt: You will get a prompt when an update is available. Update starts at your convenience.
