We have added a few new tools to the 2D toolbar:
Select ( 3 ) lets you drag a rectangle over the 2D canvas to create a volume for selection in 3D
Clip ( 4 ) lets you quickly create 4 to 6 clipping planes by dragging a rectangle over the 2D canvas and selecting the height.
How to clip in the model
Start by aligning your 2D plan the way you want by using the Rotate tool ( 1 ). Rotation is easier if you first select a space as it will snap to the edges of the space when rotating. Next choose the clipping tool ( 4 ) and drag a rectangle to indicate the vertical clipping planes.
Select if you want to clip on the current storey/floor or using the full height. Click Clip region
You can now move the clipping plans as normal by selecting the relevant plane in the clipping widget (bottom left), or by pressing "Shift" and clicking on the plane in the viewer. Planes can be removed individually by selecting a plane and pressing "Del" or all at once by right clicking anywhere and selecting "Remove clipping planes"
Select tool ( 3 ) will work in a similar way and will select anything touched by the "virtual box" defined by the selection rectangle and height. To get back to normal selection in 2D click ( 2 ).
